i received a minor setback today when i called wild and woolly in louisville to speak with todd brashear (ex-slint bassist). he said that he and his wife are expecting a child during the week that i will be in louisville. nevertheless, he told me to stop in the store and if he was there he would try to help. my neurotic “oh my god i have no one in louisville to speak with” sense kicked in, and i fired away five e-mails to any possible contact info i could find for jason noble (rodan, rachel’s, shipping news) and jeff meuller (rodan, june of 44, shipping news), or anything to do with palace or royal stable music. i also shot a holler to conrad keeley from …and you will know us by the trail of dead. maybe he remembers me from 2001 when i wrote a review of source tags and codes and won a t-shirt and some bumper stickers. hopefully some responses will arrive in the next few days. i was blessed with a response from someone named jonathan at secretly canadian who informed me that my note was passed on to jason molina, who is currently on tour in europe. i’ll leave updates as they become available. here’s your friday top ten.
