Last night was goofy. The recording sounds pretty great, too bad we didn’t. We’re recording to DAT now, so the machine’s analog RCA inputs enables us to further utilize the mixing console, thus allowing for more microphones to be used. We close-mic’d the two guitar amps, mic’d the bass amp further back due to it’s horrid sound, and then had two mics on the kit (overhead/kick drum). Out of two hours worth of tape there are maybe fifteen enjoyable minutes spread out, so I’ll do my best to whittle it down (like one would a small stick, into perhaps a smaller shape?) for you next week when I have some time. I’m going to be very busy for the foreseeable future, which isn’t something I particularly look forward to, but as they say on the streets… Actually, let’s just get to the stupid photos from a night of wasted rock and rolling.
I don’t want to do my top ten moments of 2005, because I’d just be talking about my summer again, and quite frankly you’re all sick of it anyway. Drinking with Jeff Mueller at Tuman’s was up there… Playing some of my songs for bikers in Sheridan Wyoming… Hanging out with the likes of Brooke, Matt, Gretchen, Jen, Monica… and then probably some other non-trip related things, none of which I really remember. It was a hazy year. Hey look, photos of ridiculously drunk kids giving up on playing music and trying to look stupid!
