I thought it might be difficult to wake up this morning, but I arose surprisingly early this morning. Last night I hung out at Ilya’s place with Z and we pretty much just dicked around for a few hours. Ilya–having been marginally intoxicated and decidedly jet-lagged–was quoted as saying this morning, “I don’t remember anything after 11pm. Did someone fuck me?”
No Ilya, not this time. Keep throwing out the ‘vibe’ and Z might come around someday.
I too, am having some difficulty recalling the more minute details of the evening…There was a point where we de-tuned all the guitars laying around and jammed in weird open tunings. There was also Z and I walking to get him two slices of pizza, and when we returned I was jealous of said pizza and decided to concoct a “poor man’s pizza” which consisted of Kraft singles and Goya spicy salsa wrapped in a flour tortilla shell.
As Ilya tried in vain to kick us out of the apartment, Z and I kept standing around doodling and defacing things within our reach. I drew a cartoon of a guy beating off to the sight of his sidekick getting fucked in the ass. The guy who’s beating off asks, “What’s the point?” and the guy fucking the sidekick says, “Because Syd Barrett did it.” When we realized the paper being drawn on was the same size as typical CD artwork, we slid the drawing in a Jesus and Mary Chain jewel case and attempted to convince Jack that my drawing was the actual artwork. When he saw it he exclaimed, “Oh wow! This is the Jesus and Marcy Chain? I’ve gotta listen to it!”
Then we took a postcard and drew all over it and cut the girl’s eyes out and replaced them with lit matches.
There was a lot of talk of Jack’s inevitable podcast and ideas for radio shows, but eventually Ilya gave up trying to kick us out and simply went upstairs to sleep. A few minutes later, everyone gave up and went their separate ways.
Oh yeah, and we stole a TV.
