The RIAA’s Awesome Week (And Snowmen, And Warming, And McDonald’s)

- Wow. Bad week for the Recording Industry. The Wall Street Journal reports that 2007 Q1 compact-disc sales are down 20% from last year. Hey, it’s not my fault. I bought four CDs this week. Granted, they were all used…Oh, and to make matters worse, the letters that the RIAA sent to college campuses across the country with instructions to forward them to students that they believe are guilty if copyright infringement are being ignored. The University of Wisconsin-Madison refused (third item), and chose instead to issue their own blanket statement about school policies. The University of Nebraska simply said, “Sorry, can’t help!” Lastly, the RIAA was voted the worst company in America by The Consumerist.

- Yesterday I mentioned “An Inconvenient Truth,” and my response to it. In the interest of fairness, I am watching “The Great Global Warming Swindle”. Now I don’t know what to believe!

- I’m sure we all used to read Calvin And Hobbes and fantasize about re-creating those awesome snow scenes. Well, some nerdlinger has done it, and I have to admit I’m slightly jealous. The only one he didn’t attempt was the tiny snowman crossing that blocked in Calvin’s dad’s car.

- …And McDonald’s was doing so well with their new healthy menu choices…

Did anything else important happen this week? No? Oh well…
