Have You Seen A Ghost?

No, I’m not kidding. Stop laughing. There are certain people (32% of the population, according to this poll) who believe in the existence of ghosts. I don’t know what percentage of those have attested to seeing a ghost, but I imagine it would be a considerable amount. I, for one, have never encountered one, be it through glimpses in my peripheral vision, electronic voice phenomenon, cold draft, odor, or actual sighting, and until I do I am not a believer. I am skeptical by nature, so I regard paranormal activities as inconceivable. The best explanation I could give would be to say it is simply paredolia.
The only story I can remember related to a paranormal event happened when I was in middle school. My sister had a Ouija board that she enjoyed using with friends, which I was always convinced she was manipulating in order to prove the souls of our deceased relatives were still present in the real world. I remember one weekday when I was returning from a friend’s house, I opened the front door and was greeted with the frantic story of the spirit who had just contacted her. When my sister and her friend pleaded for a “sign” to signify the presence of an entity, it answered by violently raising three curtains in the living room. The story was validated by my mother, who supposedly became quite disturbed and left the room crying when this happened. In the ten or fifteen times I joined my sister or friends at a Ouija board, nothing materialized.
So, what say you, readers? I urge you to share a story in the comments section relating a personal experience, or you can email me (gothbrooks at gmail dot com) and I will post your story here for the world (okay, like 400 people) to read.

When I was ten years old I had a sleepover at my house for my birthday. All the girls were telling ghost stories to each other. My cousin and I started talking about our grandfather, who had just died. As we were talking, a picture of this grandfather flew off the wall and the door opened. Everyone was screaming. One girl had to go home. It was great.
I don’t believe in ghosts, though. I’d be more willing to believe that it was telekinesis than any presence from beyond the grave–and trust me, I’m not exactly willing to believe in telekinesis, either.
