Getting Paid And Sabotaging Staples

Hey, I’m finally getting a paycheck for that job I did all those months ago. Remember the one? I was doing stuff online for this company, but I signed a non-disclosure so I couldn’t talk about it? Well, I should have “the bulk of what is owed to [me]” in the coming days. Hello new music gear, goodbye…uh…cheapness? No, no that’s not it at all. I’m still cheap. Goodbye…penny-pinching? Is that a synonym for cheapness? Oh, I don’t know. I guess all this means is I can stop living on $50 a week for the next few months.
I pulled such a Z yesterday when I was at Staples trying to buy a new chair. No one was around the office furniture section to help me, and when I walked to the nearest employee to ask for assistance I was told someone would be by momentarily. I waited ten minutes and not a soul arrived to aid me — in fact I didn’t see a single person–shopper or store-worker–the entire time I waited. After twenty minutes I was seething, so I searched for a way to take out my frustration. I found a sheet of security barcode stickers on a nearby table, and proceeded to place them on various objects around the store. Maybe twenty or thirty were placed in the inside pockets of school binders, on the bottoms of computer boxes, on packages of printer paper, inside packages of BIC pens, and on various signs around the store. My theory was, when some poor kid comes to buy his/her back to school supplies, they’re going to freak out when the store’s alarm goes off. Also, when a worker is told to remove the impermanent SALE signs from various items, they too will set off the alarm, thus attracting negative attention from the store management. I felt vindicated when I left Staples, and I’m not so sure that’s a good thing…
Eh. That’s all I’ve got.
