I’m going away tomorrow morning, until Sunday. I’ll be “upstate” visiting the Bay Area, enjoying a few days off of work and some much needed rest and relaxation. I might even see an old friend, or make a new one! That’s the great thing about trips…you never know what might happen.
Then again, not knowing what might happen can often lead to a bad time, or “bummer” as we like to call it here at SF headquarters (my girlfriend’s bedroom). One time I said, “Hey, I should go to South Dakota,” and it turned out a million bikers were there for a biker festival. The traffic was horrible and there weren’t any hotel rooms available! Also my car broke down…in South Dakota…it wasn’t a very good time.
This weekend will be completely different. For starters, I just had my car serviced so absolutely nothing can go wrong. Right? That’s what Steve told me a couple years ago when he asked me to drive his car up to Oakland and then his back tire blew out and he refused to come back and help me. I think the same thing happened a few years ago when I made Ian drive us to a concert and his car broke down outside the Holland Tunnel. That one was hilarious!
I’ll try to update every day with photos and stories from the road, but if I miss a day try not to assume I’m dead…odds are I’ve only been raped and left for dead. If you live in the Bay Area and want to buy your favorite blogger a drink, send me an e-mail and we’ll set up something. I may or may not choose to talk to you once I have the drink in my hand. The only way to find out if I will or won’t is to play the game!
