Released on Imp in 1998 in an edition of 300 copies, the double album Flat Fixed is much more complex than the band’s first two albums Alchemy/Shit To Gold and Cross Pollinate. The line-up for this record was expanded (guitarist Honey Owens and others), as was the instrumentation (the first appearance of turntable on a JOMF record?). The songs are longer and slightly noiser than those heard on the first two records (see: “Crazymaker”). Flat Fixed was recorded partly at Smega Studio in Portland, and at ACR Studio in Baltimore.
