Spiritualized – Cane’s Bar & Grill; San Diego, CA (1998-03-31)

December 9, 2009

Next week Sony (via ATP Records and 101 Distribution) will be shipping a newly remastered edition of the Spiritualized album Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space. There will be three variations. The standard edition will include new artwork. The deluxe pack will include three discs (the original album plus two albums of unreleased material) in a blister pill pack. The limited collector’s edition will include a 12 disc pack (3″ mini CDs) plus the two discs of unreleased material.

I’ve written before about seeing Spiritualized for the first time in 1998 when they toured the states with Radiohead. This audience recording was made less than a month before my initial exposure to the band. For some reason, the setlists floating around online declare a 13-track setlist which includes “Take Good Care Of It,” but the version of the show I received a few years ago when I was an active “trader” includes only twelve tracks, one of which is an introduction. I think this running order is correct, and perhaps “Take Good Care Of It” is tacked onto another track and I neglected to hear it when I listened earlier today.

That said, please enjoy the recording.
