I would like to extend a thank you to my friend Damon. He gave this website an unexpected plug on Serious Eats today in his review of Delphine in Hollywood. It was a totally unnecessary gesture, but a very generous one. For no reason whatsoever I have tried to mask the identity of my burger lunch partner whenever I post a burger review on my blog, but now that I’ve been “outed” I am no longer ashamed: Damon is my burger date.
Today being that day which “couples” often refer to as the “anniversary” of a relationship, I shall refrain from blogging in order to, you know, spend some time with my girlfriend. She’s usually pretty understanding about losing me to “the blog” every day, so I should reciprocate by losing the blog to her for one night. We’ll be eating at an establishment run by a Top Chef contestant here in Los Angeles. It should be a good time. I’ll be back tomorrow with a full blog post, an interview I conducted with blogger/author Scott Tennent. Prepare to be bored by a conversation between two nerds who love Slint!
