A new week is beginning. I think it’s going to be a good one. I think. I haven’t quite figured out why yet, but for at least one of you reading this, it will be a good week. I should try my hand at horoscopes. Hey Aries, you’re going to shit your pants this week. Pisces, you will find yourself drunk at least once. Uh oh, Leo…you have cancer. Poor Leo. You were always so innocent and free. You were always so…cancer free. Hey, look, I made a rhyme.
There, that should suffice as an introductory paragraph. Now I will put a mix tape together and walk next door to feed Pheobe’s fish while she’s away for the weekend. I haven’t fed a fish in at least 20 years. It’s still done anally, right?
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. No theme this week ,but I’m pretty sure most of these artists haven’t been featured before on a mix tape. Except Lizzy Mercier Descloux, and Dog Faced Hermans, and MX-80 Sound, and Simply Saucer, and Swans. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.

Yes, well, I was not drunk yesterday, though one beer was imbibed. I was witness to a man in the throes of drunkenness, though, and he was on stage, on the radio, and wearing clown facepaint. He asked his male co-host if he ever “blew Brian Wilson”.

Nice selection. I’ll be looking for more Omar Souleyman and Broadcast & The Focus Group.

Broadcast and the Focus Group is such a kick ass record… I’ve got several Broadcast albums (without the Focus Group) which are nice but the one WITH The Focus Group is one of the trippiest, most psychedelic records of the last few years. Just mindblowing ear candy.
Le Orme is one of my favorite Italian prog bands and Ad Glorium, while far more a psych record than prog, isn’t them in the style they rode thru the 70s and beyond, it really is a fine slice of Italian popsike.
