Sunday Mix Tape Number 225

July 10, 2011

No better way to spend a Sunday night than grilling cheese dogs and brats with friends on Mt. Washington, drinking someone’s home-brewed chocolate stout. I defy you to cap your weekend in a more enjoyable fashion.

Holy shit I’m flying home tomorrow! That’s awesome! What the fuck am I going to do first? Breakfast burritos with Jack? Smashburger for lunch? What time does Miami Mike’s open? Which one of you women wants to be the first name I cross off my hit list? Oh shit, I need to top Filiz and Elissa’s score on Tic Tac Trivia at Friday’s! So many options.

But before I can do any of that I need to pack my bags and get a good night of sleep. Or maybe I should get a bad night of sleep so that I sleep better on the plane tomorrow night. That sounds like a good plan. I’ve got three episodes left in Season 3 of THE WIRE (all caps totally necessary, that show is amazing)ůmaybe after I pack I’ll crack open a bottle of whiskey and finish off the season.

But before I can do any of THAT I need to compile your next Sunday Mix Tape.

RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. No Hip Hop this week. Some of you just blew a wad in your fucking pants when I typed that, didn’t you? Lots of ambient stuff and some poppy shit and some loud shit in between. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.

Yeah, a wad was blown for no hip-hop but multiple orgasms were produced when I saw Umberto, LSD March and Terry Riley. Cleanup is gonna be a bitch. Kleenex?
