Fuck You Flu

I got home from Fawn and Brian’s pre-wedding dinner party last night and something didn’t feel right. I’d had a few drinks, but by no means was I wasted. I just felt…off. I kept waking up in the middle of the night with weird heat flashes, and then at 5am some GI discomfort woke me up for good. Since then I’ve been battling muscle aches, chills, feverishness and random naps. I think this is the flu. I don’t even remember the last time I had the flu. I usually get a shot every year and I can’t recall the last time I went without one. In fact, just last week I drove by my local CVS and saw the sign out front advertising 2011-2012 flu shots. Since I’d just gotten my Hepatitis-A and Typhoid shots, I was afraid to get another vaccination so soon. So I told myself, “Eh, I’ll get it next week.”

Looks like I should have just sucked it up and gotten the shot when I had the chance. Although who knows if it actually would have helped me. All I know is that this sucks. I’m missing Tyler’s birthday party tonight downtown and I might have to miss Fawn and Brian’s wedding tomorrow. What a miserable fucking disappointment that would be.

And to make matters worse, I couldn’t get to the Nuart on time last night to see the premiere screening of Human Centipede 2 with Pat and Adam. They had to sell my ticket at the door. It’s a damned shame, too, because the front and middle sections of the original Human Centipede were in attendance signing autographs and taking part in a post-screening Q&A. Reviews (from Pat and Adam) were mixed today. Adam didn’t like that they showed the film with a scene cut where the main character wraps his cock in barbed wire, rapes the person at the end of the full-sequence Pede, and then gets his dick stuck and has to cut it off. Pat I think was looking for a more fleshed-out story instead of pure gross-out gags. I think I was just expecting to laugh a lot. Oh well, I missed that, I might miss the wedding and I have the flu. Fucking sucks.
