So…I drank a lot last night. Like, A LOT a lot. And oh boy did I ever make an ass out of myself. It’s almost as if when I drink now I convince myself that I’m creating a social performance art piece in real-time, the goal of which is to make those around me as uncomfortable as possible. For example, calling someone I just met by her name a few times and then inexplicably deciding to mispronounce her name (and use it in every single sentence) for the remainder of the evening. According to Nate, the more I drank the more obstinate and mean I became. Any attempt by him or these new “friends” of mine to curb my sneering attitude was greeted with the most obviously feigned, intelligence-insulting displays of friendliness I could conjure. To have been outside myself watching myself interact with those people would have been a remarkable study in social behaviors and interactions.

Nate also told me that one ill-timed rape joke I told literally cleared every single girl out of the party. But fuck him, apparently at my friend’s bar at the end of the night he almost got into a fistfight with a gang of lesbians, so my non-violent transgression looks quite reasonable by comparison!

All told it was a very alcoholic weekend. Now to calm down again.
