Inside Outside

In which I lend my voice and some records from my collection to a local radio program devoted to Outsider Music.

Hey y’all. Sorry, but I don’t have a Sunday Mix Tape for you this week. The season premiere of Game Of Thrones and a new episode of Twin Peaks means I’ll be out all evening. If free music is all you care about, I’ve got a couple things I want to share later this week, so check back in a few days.

If you follow Swan Fungus on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) you have already heard this, but on Thursday I was asked to appear on “Inside Outside” with Adam Papagan on KCHUNG radio. The program revolves around playing and discussing outsider music, so Adam asked me to scour my record collection for unique, sharable tunes to spin.

Here’s what I came up with:

Jerry Solomon – The Virgins
Jerry Rayson – My New York Woman
Bob Desper – Darkness Is Like A Shadow
Dr. Robert Vidoloff – Boo-Bah-Bah
Heitkotter – Hangin’ All Night
Fireblood Angel Band – A Day Of The Trumpet
Stuart Saturn – What’s Your Sign In The Zodiac
Mark Heyes – Dreams

If you want to stream the 60-minute show, you can do so here.

If you want to download it for later, you can do so here.

And that’s pretty much it for today. If you just can’t get enough of my anxiety-ridden voice, don’t forget I once appeared on the Cargo Culte Audio Field Report (July 4, 2012) and twice appeared on my old school chum’s podcast No Nutritional Value, which seems to have disappeared off the Internet. Oh well!

Of course we all know my greatest contribution to the world of podcasts was The Best Podcast You Have, but Podcast Jack scrubbed the Internet clean of any trace of our masterwork.
