Sorry for the lack of updates this weekend. Time Warner conveniently decided that because we transferred our cable bill from one roommate to another roommate, they should kill our Internet connection. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense, right? You transfer the account from one name to another name, why shouldn’t they send someone out to cut the connection? Time Warner, you’re doing business the right way. Seriously. Thanks for killing the Internet in our apartment for the weekend. That wasn’t at all inconvenient.
My weekend was great, by the way. It started Thursday night with Louise at the Okotberfest media/VIP launch party at Alpine Village in Torrence. We got red carpet treatment, including free beers (flown in that day from Munich), traditional German food, dancing, comedy and yodeling. She and I partied hard. It was fun. Saturday night was a drunken Hollywood shit-show spread across multiple bars and clubs.
I’ve pretty much instituted a new regime now that I’m accustomed to my marathon training schedule. Since I have Fridays, Sundays and Mondays off, my nights to go out and have fun have shifted to Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. It’s almost like I’m a regular person with a regular Monday through Friday party schedule. Although I’ve managed to improve my diet somewhat during this period (goodbye carbonated beverages and HFCS, hello carb-heavy training diet) I’ve decreased but not eliminated booze. The plan was to go stone sober for 16 weeks. I don’t know if it’s sad or not that I can’t do it. I tried. I tried going out and being the DD and babysitting everyone. It’s not for me. At least give me credit for trying. Oh well. No sense in being a total bore who stays at home because he can’t have a good time. Moderation is key.
