Don Snow Army – On Rock Mountain

“The Don Snow Army has a prime objective: to climb up Rock Mountain! They came together eight years ago from three little towns in Southern California. Over twenty musical soldiers have done stints in the D.S.A. Only the Die-hard veterans are left now. The band has been fighting battle after battle since its inception. The band only played original music so they never played the local club scene and are virtually unknown in the area that they came from. But the Band’s hot music and great potential did not go unnoticed. Henry Pino and Therbal Records signed the band and this record is the result of this association. The Don Snow Army has more than 100 original songs in its musical arsenal and this album is a good cross section of their material.” So, put this album on, turn it up, sit back (if you can), and listen to the Don Snow Army as they make their first assault ‘On Rock Mountain!’

Where to begin? The fact that everyone in the band is named Don Snow (Doctor Don Snow, Don Snow Moko, Diamond Don Snow, David Don Snow, and Darren Don Snow)? Or how about the writing on the front and back covers – which I hope was penned by someone in the band (or close to the band). How about the ridiculous bio and the references to Rock Mountian? Could this possibly be any more ’80s? That insanely-spirited rock ‘n’ roll enthusiasm? It’s perfect in every way.

Clearly, you know nothing, Don Snow(s).

Don Snow Army 2

11 copies of this LP have sold on eBay in the past six years, some for as much as $75 (whyyyyyyyy!?). If you google “The Don Snow Army” the only results are popsike listings. Remove the “the” and you get a few more hits, the most exciting of which was a March 2008 article in the Rustic News (Florida) that references a Don Snow as a retired member of the army from Oregon. Somehow I don’t think he’s related to the guys in this group. But, as always, if you’ve got any information on the Don Snow Army (or the Drunk, the Shortfuse, the Outsider, the Dreamer, or the Little Brother). By all means share it here. Was the guy on the front cover really ousted!? What the hell happened? WE NEED ANSWERS HERE.
