July 11-12, 2005 Cincinnati

I started early from New Jersey, stopping first in a town called Susquehanna to have lunch. From my vantage point, the highway seemed to go on forever to the West.
Tunnels in Pennsylvania with names like Blue Mountain...
...and Kittatiny help break up that state's ridiculously boring landscape. Yeah...trees... I got it the first time.
Before I knew it I had passed through the entire state, and was about to drive a rough eight miles of terrain through the northern tip of West Virginia.
Having seen the motion picture event known as "Wrong Turn," I knew damn sure not to make any stops in West Virginia. So I plowed straight through to Ohio.
I've never claimed to have the most refined palette, so I was fine eating my first dinner on the road at the original Wendy's in Columbus.
But check it out, the mean streets of Columbus didn't really want me invading their turf, so I got stuck for about an hour with this stud in my rear tire. Luckily I pulled into a gas station and befriended an ex-security guard and truck driver who helped me through this potential disaster. I made it to Cincy late at night, you can read all about it here.
