December 19-22, 2002 Seattle

The Space Needle lit up at night as I walked back to our hotel that was right on the Puget Sound. It was December and the temperature was mild. It drizzled during dinner on this, the first night in the city. The skies didn't even so much as threaten for the remainder of the weekend.
The hotel room was situated so that you could literally jump out the window and land in the Sound. I spent most of the time in the room hanging out the window. The place actually allows you to fish out of your window if you desire, but with no rod and reel, I chose to capture the scenery.
This is the view across the water from the hotel room during daylight.
They call these things, "boats."
Paul Allen (not the character from American Psycho) wanted to make his own Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in Seattle. It's called the Experience Music Project. It's alright, but not nearly enough space devoted to Krautrock.
This is one of the views from atop the Space Needle. I couldn't tell you which direction I'm facing without first looking at a map of Seattle and figuring out what that body of water is.
I think the EMP was designed by Frank O. Gehry. It's a rather obtuse structure.
Wherever there are tall buildings, you can pretty much say, "Oh, that's the financial district," and you'll sound like you know exactly what you're talking about.
In the foreground you can see the two pro sports stadiums, and in the back you can see Mt. Reiner. When I returned two years later, I drove that highway along the trees in the middle of the photo.
I'm going to go out a limb and venture a guess that I'm facing west now, because that is the Puget Sound.
Oh, that? That's the financial district.
Yup. Financial District.
This is a photograph from when the Space Needle fell on it's side. Juuuust kidding.
