Syringes Fret The Shoreline

What good are weekends when you spend them holed up on your couch, hungover and sick, as the city slow crawls its way into another one of those random three-day heat waves? I thought freeing my schedule of work on Saturdays and Sundays was going to be a real game-changer for me. In some ways it has been. In other ways it means I drink less during the week and then go wild on the weekends, leaving me even less productive socially than when I was working 11-7 on those days. Nice going, Evan.

Let’s see…what fun, new exciting developments can I share with you this week? In two weeks I won’t be going to Psycho Las Vegas because I have to work. The good news is I have a 4-day Labor Day Weekend, but instead of flying up to Portland or out to Denver to see friends, I’ve got my sister coming to town AGAIN. Even though she was just here a month ago. Then I think I’m going to Cape Cod for a wedding. I guess maybe I do have more opportunities to live life, travel, and have fun with this new work schedule than I thought. I take back everything I said in the previous paragraph. Where’s the stupid WordPress strikethrough button. Is there an HTML code for that?

I thought I was going to be working on another social media-related creative project outside of work, but I believe it’s fallen through. That’s a shame. I’ll have to feed my creative impulses by some other means. Any suggestions? Just don’t mention posting more frequently. Maybe when the weather cools off a little and it’s not so unbearable to stay indoors staring at my laptop.

Okay, that’s enough sharing for one night.

You (all three of you!) spoke and I will abide. I’ll continue to post the easy downloads for you, and if the tracks are available I’ll port the “mix tapes” over to Spotify so they’re preserved for longer than the usual seven days. If you’re not already following Swan Fungus on Spotify you should. I think I’ve got five old volumes of the Sunday Mix Tape series available at the moment. My OCD will continue to compel me to go through the archives to see how many more I can resurrect as time permits. In the meantime, here’s this week’s disjointed compilation. I have the Mets game on in the background so I’m not 100% these songs even sound good together. Oh well. It’s a decent indication of what I’ve been listening to lately.
